Lincoln motorcycle business in job-creating expansion move
AN expanding Lincoln motorcycle and scooter dealership, B and B Motorcycles Limited, will shortly be on the move to bigger premises bringing with it new jobs.
The business which boasts a pedigree going back to 1976 has outgrown its premises on the High Street and will be moving into the former Arctic Spa/Chandlers premises on Greetwell Road, off Outer Circle Road, a property secured for the business by Hodgson Elkington, the Lincoln based chartered surveyors.
“We just didn’t have enough space at our High Street premises and needed more parking space and land to accommodate us and our associated business, The Bike Academy, a motorcycle training school that will be located on half an acre of land at the rear of our showrooms,” said Peter Littlewood, managing director of B and B Motorcycles.
“The new premises on Greetwell Road, which they will be moving to on 8 March will provide adequate car parking and offers the extra space to fulfil B and B Motorcycles expansion plans. We wish Peter and his team all the best in their new headquarters,” said Dan Race, partner at Hodgson Elkington.
The new premises will accommodate not only the Suziki main dealership but also the Spanish Reiju motorcycle and Peugeot scooter ranges.
The move will also create new jobs – one full time joining the existing team comprising sales and workshop staff at B and B Motorcycles and two at the Bike Academy. B and B Motorcycles, which stocks new and used bikes and a wide range of genuine Suzuki spare parts, clothing and accessories together offering expert servicing and repairs at its on- site workshop.
On show will be a special limited edition Suzuki GSXR750. B and B Motorcycles managed to get 2 of only 25 of these rare machines produced and available to the 130 Suzuki dealerships nationwide. “We have managed to sell one already to a local man,” said Peter Littlewood.
In addition the business recently teamed up with AIM racing using the new Suzuki GSXR1000K9. With a list of riders, including Steve Plater, Guy Martin, John McGuinness, Sean Emmett and local rider Gary Johnson, who scored an impressive 3rd in last year's Senior TT. AIM racing have had the cream of British talent on their books, and have had incredible success, including wins in the TT, the Macau GP and the NW200 amongst many others.
“Now we have teamed up with the new team, to supply bikes, spares and expertise. We are very pleased and excited to be involved with such a professional and successful team, and will be doing all we can to help the team achieve their goals in 2010,” said Peter Littlewood.
